Jeremy Rhodes
Lead Pastor
I grew up in Northern California in a tiny town called Manteca which is 75 miles east of San Francisco. I have a BA in Theology from Azusa Pacific University and a MA in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary. After bouncing around NorCal for many years my family and I followed God’s call to West Michigan. We arrived on November 29, 2020 to begin a new ministry at Fairway. I have been married to Elizabeth since 2002 and we have three children Gabriella, Josiah, and Titus as well as various pets.
My hobbies are hiking, biking, reading, playing bass, coaching football and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. One thing that you should know about me is that I am a huge Marvel and Star Wars Nerd! I appreciate a good cup of coffee and a great conversation, I look forward to sharing both with you.
Joe Gruppen
Director of Children's and Youth Ministry
Joe has grown up in the Hudsonville area. Joe graduated from Hudsonville Christian and Unity Christian before going to GVSU to study Athletic Training. At Grand Valley, God redirected Joe’s path towards Kuyper College where he double majored in Bible and Sports Ministry Management and minored in Communications. He completed his Masters in Ministry at Kuyper in 2022. Joe and Kristen got married in 2010 and they have two sweet little girls, Kallie and Mollie.
At Fairway, Joe serves as the Supreme Commander of Children and Youth. He oversees everything from Birth through High School. Joe loves the trips, retreats, and mission trips that come with working with High School and Middle School students. His passion is to show students three things. 1. Who God is. 2. What God does. 3 How we should respond. In his free time, Joe enjoys chinese food, chicken wings, building legos with his kids, playing video games, watching college football (Go Blue!), and relaxing in a hammock.

Samuel has a better half, also known as Sunhyung, who doesn’t mind being called Sun for short. She works at the school where their children, Dylan and Lennon, attend. Samuel loves Fairway because of the people who love welcoming people into their lives and reaching out to the community they serve so readily. Samuel loves to do art in any shape or form and is looking forward to building a community of artists who love creating art to express God’s goodness in their lives.

Karen Dykhouse
Kids Hope USA Director
I grew up in Jenison, very near Fairway. I began attending Fairway when I was a junior in high school because I lived close enough to walk here. My husband and I met at Jenison Public High School. We began dating our senior year and we married after I graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture with a degree in Horse Farm Management. (Yes, there is such a thing!)
I enjoy listening to music and I love singing. I am an avid gardener; my flower gardens are slowly taking over our lawn, much to my husband’s dismay. My greatest passions in life are children and animals. I have been a volunteer mentor at H.U.G.S. Ranch in Byron Center for over 10 years. I have had many different animals over the years, though I always want “one more”. Currently I have a Belgian Malinois dog “Saber”, a miniature mule “Hershey”, a Paint horse “Myron” and several chickens. I really enjoy training horses and dogs, they are easier to teach than people and they are great listeners! I am an artist when I find the time, usually drawing animals, flowers and scenes from nature using pencil, ink, chalk and charcoal. God is the Supreme Artist, and I enjoy imitating his work. I love cooking and baking and I love sharing with others, single handedly ruining diets wherever I go. Calories really don’t count if you share them with good friends!
