Life Links is a way for us to be the church outside of the building. We gather together in groups of about 12-14 people meeting in homes around our community. We meet in 12-week sessions taking breaks in the summer and over the holiday season. Whether you meet every week or every other week is up to the group to decide. These groups are designed to be life-changing and impact our communities so we encourage these groups to plan a service project at least once a year. We are hoping that through these groups we can help to foster a greater connection with one another. So, you should definitely make time for gathering on occasion just to hang out. The goal is that these groups will be a place of study, connection, and support.
Now about the study, these will be sermon-based groups. The material each week is based on the sermon from Sunday, diving deeper into our study. The material will be made available online or in print copies available in the office. The studies have an engaging format starting with an icebreaker question to get a discussion going. Then we dive deeper into the topic from our message on Sunday. We talk about the sermon and then look at other passages of scripture that have to do with the same topic. Then there is time to talk about how we apply all of this to our lives.
After the time of study, we pray for one another. Through these groups, we want to see people discipling and creating connection with one another. Our mission is to seek and grow disciples. This is a way for us to be intentional about growing disciples.
Sometimes when we come together as groups or are invited to join a group it doesn’t go as we have planned and that’s ok. At the end of each session, you get an off-road. You can stick with your group, find another group or take a break.
We are really excited to see how God is going to grow us relationally and in our faith journey!
